NaNoWriMo progress...

NaNo started on Nov 1 at midnight and I have been obsessed about it ever since. Progress is good so far. I'm putting a progress meter on the sidebar to let everyone know how I'm doing (if you are interested).

It's strange because the story I'm writing is done as a blog so it feels as though I have been cheating on One of Us and writing in a different blog.

Hope everyone had a good Halloween. It was the norm here. Lots of kids. Mine dressed up to hand out candy and scared a good many kids and not a few adults. My 18 year old looked seriously freaky. He even freaked me out a little just standing in my kitchen and I knew it was him and that it was a mask. He was even scarier in the dark of the yard.

It was super windy here on trick or treat night. A front was coming through and it meant business. I think it kept the number of kids down just a bit so we had more left over candy than usual. I always have to plan for TONS of kids though because we live on the popular trick or treat street in town. All the farm kids along with some kids from neighboring towns come here to trick or treat and our street is sure stop.

Yes, the wind was bad. My 8 year-old didn't want to go at first because he said it was too cold. He finally relented and made his way through the neighborhood with his older brother.
We had TONS of candy left over. That's a double-edged sword of a problem when you're on a diet.
